I don't need you to tell me I'm pretty, to make me feel beautiful,I don't need you to give me your strength, to make me feel strong,I got all the strength I need here in side my own two hands, All I want is your love and respect for who I am, But what I really need comes from deep inside of me, i don't need you to believe in me, to make me know I'm worth believing in, I don't need you to lift me up high, to make me know I can stand tall, I can stand my own ground, I can stand proud upon my own two feet, I don't have to be part of someone else, to make me feel complete, What I really need, I'm gonna find inside of me, Not in somebody else, respect comes when you respect yourself, I don't need you to tell me I'm pretty, to make me feel beautiful.

i lie here in the dark and you walk into my room. i open my eyes at the very sight of you. you sat down at the foot of my bed and then you began to speek. what you said to me that day, swept me off me off my feet. you told me you loved me and never wanted me to leave. i told you i'd never leave you, and your hand rested on my knees. i was lost in your eyes not thinking twice, that someone might one day, take your very life. so now i lie here in the dark, thinking of that tragic day. that god would ever allow anyone to take my angel away.
