When does Chinese New Year begin?
The Chinese Zodiac is based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The Chinese Lundar Calendar is very, very old.
In fact, it is 2,637 years older than ours! Chinese New Year never begins on January 1st. It doesn't
even begin on the same date each year. Chinese New Year begins any time between January 21st and February 18th,
depending on the date of the new moon in Aquarius. For example, In 2007 (year of the Pig),
BlackDog's 10th birthday, Chinese New Year began February 18th. Below is a chart showing
